Technical Requirements for Users

We're so excited to help prepare you for using SignGlasses! Below are the Technical Requirements for using our platform.


System Requirements

A 2017 or newer laptop or tablet:

  • with a built-in camera

  • an operating system of Windows (8 and up) or Mac OS 10.10 (or higher).

  • at least 8GB of RAM, 64-bit processor with 2 cores or more.

  • bluetooth compatibility, an internal webcam, and USB ports.

Tablets we have tested and can recommend:

  • Microsoft Surface Go 2

  • Microsoft Surface Go 3

If you are using our Mobile App, please contact us to verify your device's compatibility.

Our testing indicates that using a Chromebook with SignGlasses will result in a less than ideal experience. Newer Chromebooks can be used but if you encounter issues, you will need to switch to a different device.


Browser & Internet Requirements

Please note that the only supported browsers are Chrome and Microsoft Edge, with Chrome being the preferred option. Safari is not supported and will not work with the SignGlasses platform at this time.


Whitelist SignGlasses

  • Make sure you can access signglasses.com

  • Allow emails from SignGlasses

    • Unmark emails from us as "Spam" if they are in your Spam folder

This is essential to allow access to the platform and assist with password resets, support, and session reminders. If you have any questions about this, please contact us at techsupport@signglasses.com.


Audio Requirements

To ensure that audio is clear for our remote practitioners, an external microphone is necessary for all sessions.

  • A Lapel Microphone is best for lecture-focused sessions.

  • A Room Microphone is best for small discussion-based sessions

Please avoid using built-in microphones from webcams or computers, as they can cause excessive distortion, hindering the quality of services provided.

Recommended microphones compatible with both computers and mobile devices:

  • Bluetooth Lapel Microphones:

    • Noxgear Bluetooth Speaker/Mic

    • DeWalt Bluetooth Speaker/Mic

  • Room Microphones

    • Jabra Speak 510 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

Recommended microphones compatible with just computers:

  • Lapel Microphones:

    • Samson XPD2 Lavalier Microphone

    • Aisizon Wireless Clip Microphone

    • Bietrun Lavalier Microphone


Camera Requirements

We recommend having two cameras in use at all times.

  • A Personal Camera allowing the practitioners to see the users and facilitating easy communication between them.

  • A Room Camera to capture the classroom and board, allowing the practitioners to provide more accurate services.

The cameras need to be a resolution of at least 720p.

Cameras we have tested and can recommend:

  • Logitech C922 Pro Stream

  • Emeet C950 1080p webcam


Adaptors

You may require adaptors to connect cameras and microphones to your device. Please consider your device's specifications when selecting an adaptor, as they vary in capabilities.

  • Anker 5-in-1 USB-C Adaptor

  • Anker 7-in-1 USB-C Adaptor

  • Dockteck 5-in-1 USB-C Multiport Adaptor

Other equipment that may be helpful are keyboards, tablet stands, a computer bag, etc.
