SignGlasses User Setup Guide

Weโ€™re excited to help you and your users get started with SignGlasses!

Choose the setup you will be using below. Each setup only need a few things to work well.


๐Ÿ’ป Laptop Set up

For a laptop setup, you'll need:

1. A laptop

  • 2020 or newer

  • Windows 10 / macOS 11 or later

  • 8GB RAM or more

  • USB ports or an adapter/dock if needed

  • built-in camera

  • Chrome browser

Note: Chromebooks are not supported.

2. An external microphone

3. An external webcam

Tip: Here's an example of a set up! If using a lapel microphone like the one shown above, it needs to be worn by the presenter. It will not work well sitting on the desk! The webcam should be pointed towards the presenter or the board.


๐Ÿ’ป Surface Go 2 or Surface Go 3

For a Surface Go setup, you'll need:

1. A Surface Go 2 or Surface Go 3

  • Windows 10 or later

  • Chrome browser

2. An External microphone

3. A Tablet stand

Optional: You can also attach a bluetooth keyboard, if you would like!

Tip: Here's an example of a set up! If using a lapel microphone like the one shown above, it needs to be worn by the presenter. It will not work well sitting on the desk! The webcam should be pointed towards the presenter or the board.


๐Ÿ“ฑ iPad or Phone

For an iPad or phone, you'll need:

1. A supported iPad or phone

  • Android 15 or later

  • iPhone IOS 18 or later

2. The SignGlasses mobile app

  • The mobile app is required when using an iPad or phone. Mobile browsers are not supported.

3. A Bluetooth microphone

Optional: A tablet/phone stand if you need something to hold it up


๐ŸŒ Requirements for Everyone

No matter which setup you use, please make sure you have:

  • A device to connect with

  • An external microphone

  • A camera pointed at the presentation area

    • This may be your deviceโ€™s built-in camera or an external webcam, depending on your setup.

  • Internet speed of at least 10 Mbps

  • Access to signglasses.com

    • Your IT or Network Department may need to whitelist this

  • Ability to receive emails from SignGlasses

You should also be using either:

  • An updated Chrome browser on a laptop or Surface Go

  • The SignGlasses mobile app on an iPad or phone

    • Please note that a Safari browser is not supported
